I was remembering the Fairewell situation that happened in 1997, and that whole thing was REALLY big when it happened. Especially because there was some video too and as awful as it was, it was probably the most hitting death cult I think we saw on media. But the content of those videos was horribly graphic and I cannot for the life of me find them anymore either. Usually this stuff manages to linger somewhere on the web, but I have searched far and wide and haven't found a thing.
So I was wondering does anyone know where they are? Also there were tapes that were audio only from someone who recounted the whole massacre because she survived right? When they did a full investigation. Those must be easier to find but if someone has links to them as well I would like to have it too.

I remember when this all went down... it was truly insane. I watched the videos as well, part of me wishes I didn't... but it's hard to deny the curiosity. Sadly I don't know any links to the video of the actual massacre.
I also recall, the survivor who spoke was a girl named Ariel Baum. I haven't searched it at this moment but I am sure that'll lead you to the recordings. I am sure it's an easy find but I am on my college campus computer and the internet is awful here.

was it the fairewell massacre where there were recording from the cops with a victim? i thought it was only the video, and i know there were survivors but i don't think there were any recordings released from people who had been there.

no, there were tapes from the girl Ariel, from Fairewell. honestly I think Fairewell may be on of the *only* death cults to have someone record a full statement. I mean... its not like death cults are common lol. I imagine we will see even more recorded evidence of cults like this going forward- its been what, not even 10 years since 97? taking videos and recordings is so much better now. the only other one like Fairewell i can think of is Burnt Woods, the one that happened in Alaska. I think two people spoke for that- a man named Elmar Nino and another man Alessandro Meghan. those are easy to find luckily.

I am of course much for preserving this media but please don't share it directly in this thread! I haven't seen it but, I assume it's quite gruesome? At least for now, send it through private messages or email. Feel free to send it my way as well, because I would be glad to approve it so it can also be fully shared in the forum.
Also, White, you forgot to mention the Next Level cult from 1996 in Fargo, ND where we got one tape from Morgan Ester. It was only one tape, sadly. And a very small cult unlike Fairewell. It was kind of pushed to the side due to how big of a deal Fairewell was, happening not long after.

Isn't it crazy to think of all the ones that existed before that could have had statements like the one from Fairewell? Of course, written statements exist. But recordings really solidify that a person was there, in my opinion.

These kinds of topics always make me soooo so sad :( I do find the cult things interesting too and I love to read about them because it is so fascinating but I can't help but always feel so awful when I hear about the victims and even more so when we get to hear or even see their faces when they talk about surviving it
